National Women's Parliament is rated 3 out of 5 in the category civic & social organization. Read and write reviews about National Women's Parliament. Though we are the largest democracy, women in India find themselves under-represented and far-removed from decision making levels. Women face many political, socio-economic, ideological and psychological obstacles. There is a dire need to remove these obstacles for their equal participation in all Spheres of Life. We have to ensure that young girl students realize their potential, guide and nurture them, so that they believe there is a bright future that awaits them. On this backdrop, and by a conscious deliberation between Dr. Kodela Siva Prasad Rao, Hon’ble Speaker of Legislative Assembly, Shri. N. Chandrababu Naidu, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and Shri. Rahul V. Karad, the seed thought of NWP was conceived. It is heartening that visionary leadership of Government of Andhra Pradesh has decided to host and extend complete solidarity for this massive movement, initiated by Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly. NWP will be a politically neutral platform for women across regions, religions, caste, culture, class, rural-urban backgrounds and from diverse fields like politics, social sector, education, sports, industry, media, cinema, arts & culture, judiciary and young aspiring students to stage their experiences, share knowledge and research in the area of women’s social, economic and political empowerment resulting into a better and conducive environment for Women Empowerment and nation building. This is certain to unfold as a unique model of Public and Private Partnership in the country, encouraging other institutions of democracy to replicate and take this momentum deeper and wider in the vastness of India in coming years.
