One of the must visit place when you visit Kodaikanal. One can spend 45 minute to 1 hour in this museum. There are plenty of insects and animal samples preserved. This museum will amaze with its own collection. There is a clean rest room too.

Museum houses varieties of preserved birds, insects, moths, butterflies, snakes and fishes. Most of the displays are maintained for 120 years, since the opening of the museum. All preserved displays featured are indigenous to Palani Hills region. Some excavated pots from BC era are also featured. Every little display is meticulously labelled. Bones of few animals, turtles, jaw bone of whale are also displayed.
Oh the museum is nearby and city so it is an easy access, I like the museum because it is very old and maintained good as of now. It has stuff animals and currency from different part of the world.. Old utensils, medical specimens of humans and animals. Overall you could just pass by if you are nearby
Small but complete. Probably a wonderful place to see and spend some time while returning to Kodaikanal road station. The person at ticket counter was so knowledgeable and helpful.
Must visit for all kids and interested adults. This place is filled with passion of a biologist . Has vast collection of skeletons and remnants of most fauna and floura of Western ghats. I was marvelled by his interest and perseverance in gathering these things over 50 years. My kid loved this place more than any place in kodaikanal. Would definitely revisit if I come here again.
