It's a decent place to visit. But it's still in development phase so right now it is still figuring out what all need to be done. There are mangroves nearby which is a must visit

Didn't felt anything special here. A lonely beach on the other side river. Didn't found anything as seen in other posts. Boats to this place are also rare. Boat fare 20 per person. People over here are so nice.

Our stay was arranged at Mr.Khalid's home at Ettikulam, Payyanur. Stay was good and they provided a room at first floor which has big sit out and a hall. Mr.Khalid's family hosted our stay and food. Food was awesome with unlimited dishes and curries. They were very friendly and allowed us to enter the kitchen and we became family friends. Mr.Muhammed Kunhi was our stay guide and helped us to take to near by places, boating to Mangrove forest and kayaking. He took pictures of us while kayaking and shared with us. Overall stay was good and we enjoyed a lot. They have different types of stay which suits for the different groups. (Family, bachelors, groups) They need support from public to develop their community tourism thought. Pros: Overwhelmed responses and respect from the host. Awesome food. Awesome hospitality. Cons: As of now nothing, but provided few personal suggestions to attract many guests.

We had one of the best vacations at kavvayi and pandyala port! Beautiful and Serene place to unwind and chill..the combination of backwaters and beaches..what more could we ask for! Together with adventure sports like kayaking and camping nights by the beach, it was a one of a kind experience. Our hosts were very friendly and amicable! Will definitely come back for more trips here!

Least explored island in North Malabar. The place is calm and quiet. It is an ideal place for people who love backwaters, beaches etc. This place has already been registered to Responsibile Tourism mission initiated by Kerala Tourism. There are many home stays which are tourist friendly. The residents of these island organise different activities. They also provide famous malabar dishes and snacks during your stay. Another important highlight is that authorities organise adventure activities like kayaking, boating, walk through mangroves. I visited this place once and the only difficulty i faced was reaching here. The place located in a remote location and the roads are very narrow. Also we need to cross a river in a private boat service. However it was an awesome experience and people will definitely enjoy their trip. In the near future this place will develop a lot and will definitely become a landmark in tourism map of North Kerala.
