This is India's second Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Terminal, the Terminal is managed and operated by Petronet LNG Limited, a Public Sector Undertaking under Govt of India. The LNG imported by Petronet is transferred to the pipeline network of GAIL Limited. (The Kochi – Koottanad Bengaluru Mangaluru Pipeline network contract work is given to GAIL to transport the imported LNG from the LNG Terminal of Petronet to various Customers in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.) The first leg 444km long kochi - mangalore pipeline was launched in 2009 at an estimated cost of Rs2915cr and was to be commissioned on 2014 , but the delay escalated project cost to Rs 5750 crores . This line connects to 1)mangalore chemicals & fertilisers(MCF). 2)MRPL 3)0MPL The pipe line project was knows as KKBMPL ( kochi - kootanad ( Palaghat )- bangalore - mangalore - pipe line ) Kottanad in Palaghat is the main junction that bifurcates to Mangalore & Bangalore The second leg 620km( koottanad - bangalore ) is in progress . This line passes through valayar , Coimbatore , erode , Salem , tiripur , krisnagiri , Dharmagiri , Hosur ( 7 district in Tamil Nadu ) - Finaly bangalore . The pipe like is a big boost to struggling kochi LNT terminal of Petronet having capacity of 5 million tonne but 90% is has been idle for want of demand . 16-Nov-20 commissioning of first leg capacity utilisation of terminal will go upto 30% . This will fetch Kerala state 1000 cr. as GST Revevue every year .

This area is protected area, can't enter just to view or as tourist, NGL Natural Gas to Liquid it's making from mideast plant's in liquid form it's LNG it's stored in huge tanks, this fuel is less polluted than normal diesel and petrol fuel. But still it is not common in our community.
