A well engineered public swimming pool of mammoth proportions. The channels meant for water supply from a distant source, inlet and outlets can still be appreciated. It serves as a good example of the brilliant water resource management strategies of Vijayanagara kingdom.

A olympic size swimming pool... which makes you wonder how the weather must have been a couple of centuries ago.

Massive huge public bath, was a swimming n bathing place. It's very big in syze, bigger than the present day full olympic size swimming pool. Great engineering knowledge can be seen with the inflow n outflow water system of those days.

Nice places to visit near to Chennai -Tada

PURUSHOTHAM SUNKU

Though nothing is much left except the carved animals on the four sides of the bath, this is very big and might have been in service to several people in the ancient times.

Hampi has an extensive network of aqueducts and canals that spreads across the whole area. It is a wonder that the rulers of the Vijayanagara Empire had managed to build such an intriguing network of waterways that reached each and every corner of Hampi. The aqueducts and canals of Hampi are an attraction for tourists and modern architects alike, who marvel at the skilled planning of the waterways in the ancient village. The Stepped Tank near the Royal Enclosure and the Mahanavami Tibba is a shining example of the evolved town planning done by the engineers of the Vijayanagara kingdom. The Stepped Tank was used to store water that was brought from the river Tungabhadra through a network of aqueducts made of stone. The ASI has also restored the stone channels that were used to bring water to fill up the Stepped Tank.
