This is a unique place of India where you can find very old documents, of course mainly land related, since Mughals. Document are preserved very well in various modes. The Director of this institute Mr. Mahendra Khadgawat has done a remarkable job to retain such heights that's why people from all over the world came here to see the restoration work and research.

A lovely place in the heart of Bikaner to check out the one of the oldest and well maintained archives of India. I learnt about the outdated microfilming process plus saw books as old as 120 years, most of the other documents are all wrapped up since an extensive renovation is in process. There are no tickets and one needs to go in person and request the personnel for access.

Although this place is not open for public to visit. Some contacts helped me to get in and it's worthwhile. This place is giant with historic records and what not. The plus point is the department has maintained everything from cleanliness to sequel. I have never seen a government office this organised !

One of it's kind, Rajasthan State Archives hold all the original documents and records related with Rajasthan and it's history in physical and digital format. Locked safely in there, some of them are in process of recovery due to age. But if you have access them you log on to their website, also the staff there is really helpful and will give all required things if you need access to anything. It's a heavni for a historian.
