A must go place for bird lovers, you can spot lot of bird. During the walk in the dense mangroves forest it is difficult to photograph. Take a boat ride which costs INR900 cab accomodate 6 to 7 people easily. It is easy to spot lot of water birds during the boat ride and easy to photograph too.

Wet lands and creepy mud lobster .. transporting to island is beautiful feeling I liked it very much .
It’s in another side of Goa .. you have to come down to old Goa ferry point .. take your 2wheelr to another island. It takes 15 min to reach another point , frequency of ferry is pretty good , for 2wheelr it’s free but fir cars it’s chargeable. There is nominal entry charges , it’s very nice peaceful bay walk ..to see mangrove plants , bird watching point , you barely see any birds in noon , you should go till end to see the actual beauty I.e small pond ... don’t litter anything inside keep it with you it’s beautiful nature walk trail.
Poor maintained and hell lot of mosquitos... Now it became secret place for couples. Many couples hiding there. If you are visiting then visit during good climate. Good thing is travelling in ship transport. Entry fee is 40 per head.
Nice place. Walking trail is approx 1.1 km long. It is strictly for Nature lovers and bird watchers. Lot of birds but really need lot of patience to spot them as reserve area is little dense. Though as per info there are more than 100 species of bird but you wont spot them unless you plan to spend 3-4 hrs. Otherwise a very good place to experience peace in nature with absolute silence and just birds singing. You need to take ferry to reach this place from mainland (approx 1.2 km). Cars and bikes can be taken aboard the boat to cross the water body and it is free of charge.
The place was nice but we didn't get to see any birds. 10minutes trek inside and that was it.
Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary is an estuarine mangrove habitat, which is declared as the bird sanctuary, and located on western tip of the Island of Chorão along the Mandovi River, Goa, in India. The sanctuary is named after Salim Ali, the eminent Indian ornithologist. The sanctuary and island are accessed by a ferry service running between Ribander and Chorão. The sanctuary has a paved walk that runs between mangroves of Rhizophora mucronata, Avicennia officinalis and other speciesSeveral species of birds have been recorded and the common species include the striated heron and western reef heron. Other species that have been recorded include the little bittern, black bittern, red knot, jack snipe and pied avocet (on transient sandbanks).[1] The sanctuary is also host to mudskippers, fiddler crabs and other mangrove habitat specialists. A species of crustacean Teleotanais indianis was described based on specimens obtained in the sanctuary.
Took a ferry from Panjim to reach there. The place was awful! Hardly one crow could be noticed. Not a single bird. Just a waste of time and money. On top of that the place is hardly maintained. Mosquito bites is another con! This place needs to be maintained. I liked only the end point though.
