Its very adventurous.. there are three sections for the trek .. first is the normal village walk for half hour, the second one is the dense forest trail..one has to be sure to take the correct route or you can get lost .. then comes the climbing rail which is the last part of the fort which requires some skills of rock climbing

Excellent trek near Mumbai. Trail goes through some fields at first and then a dense teak and bamboo forest. The incline is constant and there are a few patches of loose rock, easier going up than down. The views and breeze at the ridge are amazing.
Lovely place...
Nearby and decent place for night as well as monsoon trek. Certain patches very slippery, but otherwise easy.
It was challenging, perfect place for a night camp, awesome view to the sunrise and no human intervention. Awesome exquisite view of the stars at night and felt like a part of nature
Tak mak fort ( hiking point) virar, one of the best place specialy for TRACKING. MUST CARRY :- 1-WATER BOTEL, 2-EATING SNACKS, 3- GOOD RUBBER GRIP SHOOSE, 4-ONE STIK ( pick up from ground at starting point) Etc. Go with bike in group.(parking is available)
This is not the place for beginner. You should be physically fit and Do not go in summer.
Takmak fort hike offers different views- fields, forest, ridge and mountain. It is close to Mumbai and can be done in a day. Make sure to carry enough water and food. Due to open ridge walks the hike can be dehydrating, so budget well for water. This hike is of medium difficulty. Good trekking shoes are essential.
