Great re-collection of the grand life that Sobha Singhji lived. But not as much worth a visit. He was a public figure pursuing his own life ambitions. As a tourist it is not easy to relate to his work and life. It is half hour drive from Palampur. Andretta pottery place and home stay have nothing much to offer unless you are a pottery lover. So coming this far did not seem worth it. The art gallery has a store to purchase a good collection of items of every day use and of souvenirs alike. These items are not unique and you can buy elsewhere in Palampur city as well. On top of it, the folks who run the place have set weird rules as if tourists are coming there to loot their property. There is no politeness in the conveying of the rules.
It was a wonderful experience visiting Sobha Singh Art Gallery and viewing those exquisite masterpieces painted by this great painter was a quite good experience. Some of the masterpeices were so detailed and beautiful. There is a museum too which a Sculpture of this great Saint-philosopher-painter which seemed quite realistic and there is his studio which is maintained as it is and his belongings and pictures of his achievements amd with famous ministers too. Must visit place
Lovely old heritage. Who doesn't want that. Must go with family and kids. Art is to be preserved that can only happen with more exposure to younger generations to such places. Loved it
Perfect insight to what Sobha Singh's life was and the impact he created on the society with his art. Museum is very well maintained and is so aesthetically beautiful too. Though the content is quite less as it's about one's life, but it was an amazing experience getting up close with Sobha Singh's life, and the old artefacts of the colonial period makes the trip even more interesting and informative
A brilliant place for art enthusiasts. Gives a real time exposure and understanding about the lifestyle of the legendary creator of so many award winning creations.
Well preserved paintings, personal belongings by his family. Photography not permitted inside.
It's a lovely place to visit. You will feel proud after the visit.
