Visual treat. If you have 600mm lens, double treat. Nice place to refresh our eyes and enjoy ourselves with birds to feel the nature. Go with your kids, surely they will enjoy. I went on 21-March-21 randomly but satisfied fully and it is worth a visit, lots of birds, I can only hear their joyful sounds.

Vedanthangal bird sanctuary is the oldest in the country. Read the attached image for more on it's importance. Would be good to carry your binoculars along. Else you can buy outside the sanctuary. Apparently, the villagers do not celebrate diwali or any fireworks festivals so that the birds are not scared away. The road to the sanctuary passes through small villages making your driving also a unique experience. If you can plan with an extra 60 to 90 minutes in hand, you can pay a visit to the small hilltop temple which is on the way to the sanctuary.

A serene place to visit early morning. There is no telescope in the observatory here. Good to bring binoculars if you have it.

Took my children, birds from abroad has come a lot, Dec to March only season. Don't take binocular outside for rent which is waste of money. They have binoculars at the watch tower which is very useful

We visited at 6.15 am. Probably the right time to go. Must appreciate the maintenance of the facility. Super clean. For bird lovers it's a paradise. Only problem is the blaring loudspeakers around the sanctuary which spoils the serenity. If the management could do something about it, it will enhance the experience.

Vedhanthangal Bird Sanctuary is a lake which has large number of bushes and trees.. Birds spend their time in those bushes and trees.. It is a seasonal tourist place.. We have to visit depending on the time of arrival of birds.. A pavement is build half way around the lake, where we are allowed to walk and site seeing the birds.. Entrance fee is 10/person.. They are charging for the mobile camera also, which is 50/mobile.. Renting of binoculars is also available outside the lake which is probably 100/binocular.. Good place to visit with your family and friends for relaxing..
