One of the best government owned facilities to have a great time with our family to interact very close to elephants. There are a total of 16 elephants of which 6 are male and 6 are females. We can watch the elephants’ communal bath on river. And moreover the staff are really friendly and happy to explain anything about elephants. There are small kiosks inside. The timings are from 10-5pm. Elephant rides are stopped temporarily.

It was a lovely experience to see adult and baby elephants of different ages. We were able to see them up close (were not allowed to touch the elephants it interact with them, though). Got to see how the elephants were given bath and then taken for feeding (what a luxury!). It's a nice place to go see and learn. Please don't go with a high expectation. The whole place is under renovation now. After 2 years (by 2023) this would be a really good place to go see. They intend to leave the elephants free in the forest by then and we would get to see from far. Although the name of the place has it, but it dawned on me only after getting there that is a rehabilitation center where the lost, abandoned, wounded or illegally transported elephants are brought to be rehabilitated back into the wild. Good place to take family for a short get away. If you're going from Trivandrum is only a half day tour, at the max. There is canteen and stay facility too available in the premises. There is no phone number for this place, online. But i managed to get the manager's number from there. Also, I'm attaching the visiting time detail in the photographs

Very friendly and approachable staff. All of them are very passionate about the elephants and you can sense that when you talk to anyone there. Lot of new structures coming up which felt like its going to ruin the feel of the place, however the staff were very particular that it's only a transition phase and they all are looking forward to the end result which many of them said will be spectacular. Looking forward to visiting the place once the whole project is done.

It's a wonderful place to spend a day with family. There are a number of activities which can make up your day satisfactorily. One can have many memorable moments after spending here. The place can be improved a lot by providing lots eco friendly of facilities which ultimately can boost up tourism. The Government and authorities should have to put a focus on this. This place has a very huge potential to boost up thr tourism of the state.
