Our Lady of Snows Shrine Basilica is located at Tuticorin. This is one of the few shrine basilicas located in India. This place is famous for its rich history and miracles. A must see place on Tuticorin for people of all religious beliefs. A peaceful place to meditate and to surrender ourselves to the Lord almighty. The annual festival is very famous and it attracts massive pilgrims during the festive season. August 5th is the feast for Our Lady of Snows. The church was originally built by Portuguese. Later it was extended and renovated. This is also called as the Periya Koil in Tamil which translates to The Big Church.
Best Church in this world, you can see a real Lady carrying a baby(Mother Mary) standing in the Altar.
We must visit this church,, if we are in tuticorin.. this is the most favourite place of this tuticorin people... Big church and ancient church..
Excellent church tells long history near to sea.Building also looks great nice to see improved services for pilgrims.
Sacred and very spiritual. One can feel a motherly embrace inside the Church. People inside the church were very sincere and respectful.
This church has found a special place in the hearts of Christian communities . This is our heaven since ages. The thing is that, after the holy mass, people sit on the stairs and make the place untidy, yelling and screaming. It would be really great if our Parish priest inform the people not to sit on the stairs etc etc because it's a Holy place, not a park or something.
