These guys are doing an extra ordinary job. Must visit for animal lovers and those who care for animals. Not a fun place.

My friend and I visited this facility when we visited Agra and this is so worth the drive (about an hour from Agra). After seeing all the street performer elephants forced to work under excruciating conditions, it was so refreshing to go and see happy elephants grazing in the field and bathing themselves. The worker mentioned there is some threat that developers want to take over the land so it is SO IMPORTANT to support this organization. I believe to visit the elephants it's 1500 rupees (merely 20) so if you can donate anything more it is so appreciated. We got one of the best iced coffees I've had in my life from their cafe and sat on the back deck where you can watch the elephants playing from comfortable lawn chairs in the shade, highly recommend!

An excellent place to visit ....with kids they just love it....the work the staff and team at Wildlife SOS are doing is greatly commendable Taking care of these rescued animals and make provisions for good health, food and stay of both the bears and elephants is excellent. We were not only taken around the conservation area but also given brief insight into the story of each rescue, what are the natural requirements of the animals and how they are deprived when in a captive state.... The surrounding areas were clean too.... During the visit here you get to see the animals up close and like in nature....not like you see in a zoo.... A wonderful experience and a must visit place if you are in Agra/Mathura

Wonderful Sanctuary caring for rescued Elephants & Sloth Bears. They have an Hospital too. Tremendous job the workers do feeding, cleaning & caring for the animals every day! Buying goods from the shop also contributes money to the project. This Charity needs money every day to keep going! Pachyderms eat a lot every day!

India’s first and only Elephant Conservation and Care Centre was established in 2010 in the district of Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh Forest Department. The primary objective behind establishing the Centre was to rehabilitate severely abused and exploited captive elephants. The Elephant Conservation and Care Centre is now home to over 20 rescued elephants and is a living breathing conservation education platform to change public perception to support elephant conservation. All elephants at Elephant Conservation Care Centre were rescued from extreme distress, while some were privately owned and had a cruel history of being used for begging, others spent a lifetime in captivity & confinement as temple elephants or were being coerced to perform in circuses. No longer forced to bear heavy loads, or walk on hot pavements, these majestic creatures are finally able to spend their days happily, with frequent baths, a nutritious diet, and good veterinary care. The centre is full of natural vegetation with enough open fields around for their daily walks and several trees available to scratch themselves, thus making it closest to the natural habitat of the elephants. Water pools have been provided to the elephants with the free access for them to bath and play in the water, at will. The Elephant Conservation and Care Centre and the Elephant Hospital is bordered with the river Yamuna, surrounded by farmland, and a 10 minute walk through a lush green field leads our elephants to the river where they enjoy taking long and relaxing dips!

My son and i went for volunteering.. They have both bears and elephants facilities where they are taking amazing care of rescued bears and elephants. We chopped and served food, cleaned their pools, made platform for bears etc.. It was a great and meditative experience. Best was to walk with elephants on a huge piece of land. Never experienced anything like that ever before. .
