Ferry service between Uttarpara & Ariadaha dates back ages together. It has been long serving and standing tall with time. Though it has served in hand pulled boats & small steamer boats historically, now finds modernisation to suit the modern life style. Large vessels has been deployed to deal with the increased traffic. New vessels are more capacitative and has better stability than before. The new jetty built recently serves everyone with great comfort. Located right on to Uttarpara G. T. Road, it is very easily visible from moving traffic. It has a Bus stop, Rickshaw stand and Toto stand to help commuters with their onward journey. It provides a laid back option for people who aren't at hurry, but want to have the convenience of comfort and smooth ferry journey over the river Hooghly better known as Ganga.

Jetty is repaired and supplied good maintenance now. Very good condition now.

Bad behaviour of staffas. Ferry in is not on time. Sometimes late by 30 min.

VERY POOR condition of the boats. Those boats are in terrible condition. They always overcrowd them and the running frequency is very low. Very much disappointed. It's quite risky to travel in boats in that Poor condition.
