This is where the Yasa Kula Puthra (Varanasi’s Cheif merchants son) met the Buddha for the first time. In that time there was a tree over here and the Buddha sat under the shade. In the early morning Yasa Kula Puthra came here and attained Sothapanna (stream entrance) after listening the dhamma which was preached by the Buddha. Then his father, the cheif merchant of Varanasi came here to find his son and he also attained to the ‘Sothapanna phala’ (stream entrance) by listening the Dhamma. After that father became the first Upasaka who went refuge of noble triple jem - the Buddha, Dhamma and Sangha. In that moment Yasa Kula Puthra attained fully enlightenment (arahanth) and became a monk by getting permission of his father.
It is an ancient Hindu temple which was worship by the peoples of the city. This temple is half out and half in the earth. Very nice temple with beautiful art on the wall of it.

Panchyatan temple，依據網上資料這應該是間印度教神廟的殿堂，而通常Panchyatan temple供奉的毀滅之神「濕婆神」︰中央主殿濕婆神、四周為太陽、象頭神（濕婆與雪山神女之子）、雪山神女（濕婆之妻）、毗濕奴與吉祥天女分別於東南、西南、西北與東北方，（印度教三相神︰「梵天」主管創造、「濕婆」主管毀滅、「毗濕奴」主管維護），是印度人民最敬畏的神明。 濕婆神於佛經中稱之為"大自在天（Mahesvara 摩醯首羅天）"，居住於"色界"之頂；後來成為密教護法神之中的"大黑天（Mahakala 摩訶迦羅），如此一來印度教神廟出現在佛教聖地的鹿野苑的解釋即刻明瞭；並說明了在鹿野苑考古學家的發掘下也發現了大黑天與度母Tara的古跡，解釋了鹿野苑出現了印度教的廟宇的理由。
