Parking is outside, tickets can be purchased from booking ticket. Clean well maintained trail and closed boundary covers all caves campus. Must visit place after Sanchi. When you purchase the ticket start from left hand side trail as it has a ramp and you wont feel much while reaching at the top. You can see river Bais dam from top and entire city. If you opt from right hand side trail then it has many stairs and you will feel exhausted in starting itself.

The Udayagiri Caves are twenty rock-cut caves near Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh from the early years of the 5th century CE. They contain some of the oldest surviving Hindu temples and iconography in India. They are the only site that can be verifiably associated with a Gupta period monarch from its inscriptions. One of India's most important archaeological sites.

Great historic place to visit near Bhopal and sanchi. Great for people who like trekking or mountain climbing. You can see the caves and carvings of early man in those caves. Although most of the caves are locked so you really have to peep through the iron cage to see the carvings and sculptures inside the caves. Also, it's mostly climbing the rock mountain so it's preferable to visit this place in winters as it gets really hot in summers which makes it an even tougher climb.

It's a pre Gupta dynasty cave sculpturs. Not maintained properly. However some of them are still beautiful.

The place needs a guide for the tour. It could provide employees opportunity to the local youth. Most of the caves are empty, if restored properly could become worth the visit for a larger audience. There are a lot of Ghost Trees here. I haven't seen so many ghost Trees in such close proximity ever before. The walkways here have fossilized leave designs if you have an eye for detail. Udaigiri jungle retreat also offers a breathtaking view of the cave hill. You can go for boating on the river. The place can get chilly in winter.
