Scenic place. Good to visit early mornings.
An ancient buddhist site with beautiful views of the sea. The place was once the house of Hinayana Buddhist community. The ruins of prayer hall, dinning hall, congregation hall and chaityas can still be seen in here. The place is very well maintained by the archaeological department of Andhra Pradesh. There are four stupas which are still intact to this day.
According to Archaeological Survey of India, this place is build up in 300 AD. That means, this place is 1700 years old. The structure which is used red rock. Must be visit when you are at Vizag.
Ancient Buddhist Monastery at Vizag found by Indian Navy in around 1980. Buddha monk used to Pray here and created well for storage of water and Bathtub etc for daily life. Serene place for yoga but nothing is there around. 15 mins are enough to explore the place. Overall good.
A good place to see the ancient Buddhist archaeological site. It is located approx 14km from the city on the side of sea shore. The ride to this place is very good. A lot of greenery and some beautiful scenic views can be seen as it is located at an altitude. The other side of the city can also been seen at the view point. It's not that well maintained as there is no proper care taken regarding maintenance of this place. Overall a good place to see the ancient Buddhist archaeological site and good scenic views of Vizag!
