Chilika Development Authority (a Government of Odisha Agency) has been created under Forest & Environment Department of Government of Odisha in the year 1991 with an objective for conservation of ecology of Chilika lagoon and to bring an all round development in and around the lagoon which calls for multi-dimensional and multi-disciplinary development activities. This Visitor Center has been developed in order to impart some knowledge about the marine ecosystem and their protection. A lot of models are in display to provide a detailed explanation. Boats are available for a trip on Chilika.

Great place to see migratory bird... And if lucky enough one can even see dolphins...but don't fall for so called govt people who come to exhibit pearls and stones.. They charge exorbitantly

Great initiative by Chilka Development Authority, but very poorly managed, this place stinks. Models n replicas are good. 1st floor reminds if school lab where all samples are kept in display but not maintained. Very poorly managed.
