Went to this port last week!! The sad part is they aren’t letting us to the end of the road! They are stopping us in the mid road itself Just captured few photos of us and that’s it! There’s nothing much about this place for now!

Ennore Port is always an exciting port. Stevedores are good and very fast. You may find fishing boats while approaching and they are very difficult to spot at night.Some fishing boats don't even have any lights on!!! And If you are unlucky then you may find fishing nets also. People are good here. Even during corona crisis PHO and other port officials are cooperative and supportive. Customs is same as other ports in india, Better not to comment on that. On the Ro-Ro Berth the surging is too much. Lines parting is common here but it can be avoided with carefull planning. Lowering the ramp is another challenge during surging. Monsoon seasons are the worst. About stevedores, they are well trained and know what they are doing they are fast yet carefull. They are very co-operative with ships staff.

Ennore is a neighbourhood in Chennai, India. Ennore is situated on a peninsula and is bounded by the Korttalaiyar River, Ennore creek and the Bay of Bengal. The creek separates Ennore from the Ennore Port and Athipattu Pudunagar. It is connected to Thiruninravur via Chennai Outer Ring Road. The neighbourhood is served by Ennore railway station. It was recently merged with Chennai City, of which it now forms the 1st ward. Over the years Ennore has become the hub of a range of industrial projects, mainly thermal power stations, fertilizer factories, industrial ports and coal yards Many of the industries in Ennore pollute the air, especially the Thermal Power Plants. Data from the Central Pollution Control Board and from independent bodies show that the air quality is clearly worse than the limits and can only be prescribed as "unhealthy" or "very unhealthy". For PM 2.5 (Particulate Matter or dust less than 2.5 micrometers in size) the air pollution is up to 3.7 times higher than standards prescribed by the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change (MoEFCC).[5] Data from the CPCB for the region shows that from 01.06.2017 to 22.06.2017 the level of PM 2.5 was 88 µg/m3, which is clearly higher than the prescribed standard (60 µg/m3).[6] PM 2.5 can lead to asthma, lung cancer and even heart attacks.[7] Many residents in Ennore suffer from health problems. Old residents tell that those problems were absent decades ago and started with the industrialisation of the area. Public health specialists confirm that air pollution in Ennore can affect the health of the residents negatively.[5]
