The place is a bit untidy but that's what expected of such a big and important government office handling vital affairs. The officials were very helpful during my first visit.

Good place for civic services, friendly help provided by the officials. Covid norms are fairly maintained. The place is quite clean, but it would be great if the washrooms were cleaner. Xerox and food stalls are also available in the vicinity. But the parking availability is really bad and the parking charges are high.

The men at the desk were good & helpful but the overall management of crowds for resolving their issues about voter id cards was pathetic. The management must have shut its eyes to the spiralling queue that went down to the next floor below with hundreds gathered. Finally the last man in the queue was handed over a chit around 1.30pm & told not to allow any one after him. In this Covid Time it is needless to say that social distancing went for a toss. Available seats were inadequate for the numbers present. People of all ages stood for hours. I could reach the counter ( only a single counter was operating for everything including distribution of forms, collecting verifying documents being submitted & delivery of epic card or simply to tell that the card was not yet ready, after standing for five & half hour. But the closing time was extended from the scheduled 2pm to beyond 6.30pm & the patience & tenacity of the person at the counter must be appreciated. It is not clear why the work was not distributed over a few counters, which could have made it easier on both sides. This was the scenario for one constituency. Can't say what happened for other constituencies. I learnt the only one correction at a time can be submitted. That the regional language name is done through an auto translation from English version without going into the grammatic spelling. That the pin code appearing will be of the area & not the one of your residence. A tea vendor offered coffee/ tea making the rounds every half an hour or so. We hear so much of improvements but the reality is different. Evidently the electorates are not really important in an election & may be dispensed with. However the lone man working tirelessly at his desk doing multitasking kept the show going. That is how probably our esteemed systems lay claim to operating smoothly & efficiently. A one man show!

Typical Govt. office, poorly maintained building with cracks, cobwebs and dirt in every corner that the sweepers have overlooked. Work gets done, but at an extremely leisurely pace. If you dare to come when the concerned person is not available (even if it is his duty hour), and if you dare to complain about it, then you have to face the wrath of govt. servants who will delay your process time and again, maybe make you make rounds to and from your home an infinite number of times! But that being said, if you are extremely polite (and manage to flatter the concerned person enough), then you might actually have a chance to get things done quickly! As truly said by Hon'ble Governer Shri Jagdeep Dhankar, the bureaucracy in West Bengal has become absolutely spineless and pathetic bootlickers of the TMC Govt.
