Had the opportunity to visit this building through a heritage walk organised by Khaki tours. The place is an architectural marvel and definitely one of the Prides of Mumbai. Since the place was not visited for official reasons so cannot comment on the efficiency of the working. But the security personnel were helpful and friendly

This is a special building,,,,special Colonial architecture sadly home to Mumbai's hopelessly inefficient and corrupt Municipal corporation. The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM), as the primary agency responsible for urban governance, has also signed an MOU with NGO Council to work closely with NGOs in the fields of education, public health, creation of urban amenities, art and culture and heritage conservation.

BMC - D Ward not bothered to look after the area where they undertake repairs by digging up roads and leave it open. Residents of Godrej Baug, Malabar Apartments & devotees of Santoshi Mata as it’s just outside the steps of Mandir and outside Malabar Apartments near Simla House - NEPEAN SEA ROAD. It’s been obstructing traffic to move and even the pedestrians. NOTE THAT THE WORK IS DONE TODAY IN A VERY SHABBY WAY BUT CLEANUP IS NOT DONE YET Lane going from Malabar Apartments to Godrej Baug is unable to be cleaned daily as 2 Wheelers are parked on both sides.

Municipal Corporation Building, Mumbai, located in South Mumbai, India is a Grade IIA heritage building at the junction of Dadabhai Naoroji Road and Mahapalika Marg opposite to the CSMT V’ shaped building houses the civic body that governs the city of Mumbai, the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM). It is said to be the largest civic organization in India as well as in Asia MCGM was created in 1865. On 9 December 1884, the foundation stone for the new building of the Bombay Municipal Corporation was laid. The building was completed in 1893. The restoration plan for the 125-year-old MCGM Gothic structure a restoration of interiors and the exterior estimated to cost Rs 80 crore approved by the Mumbai Heritage Conservation Committee and the civic administration. The building is known for its 255 ft tall tower,Gothic architecture and at the entrance to the MCGM stands a bronze statue of Sir Pheroze shah Mehta, a prominent Indian lawyer. I have never visited the inside area of the building but i must say the exterior if the building and bhritish era architecture is mind blowing and always eye catching. This structure is situated opposite of CSTM Chattrapati shivaji maharaj station... And the night view of this sarrounding area including this building is very very beautiful.
