Its an old masjid inside the Tipu sultan fort. Looking at the current state, it's not maintained properly. As per the discussion with locals, the local people only help to keep it running. Considering the legacy of the great Tipu Sultan it's sad to see that the government hasn't spent a penny on its maintenance.

Nothing much remains of the fort except for a few ramparts. They also have a light and sound show which is included in the ticket fare of 25 rs. There are many gates of the fort which still remain such as the Delhi gate and the water gate which are worth a visit.

This place is really rich is history and heritage. The actual fir has no entries except ine called the water gate using which the british had captured tge fort and Tipu sultan was also killed here near the gate. This place is totally negleted by the tourism department and is not maintained at all. We were luck to meet Mr. Gopal, who has made it his life mission to help tourists and promite tourism. He served as an execllent guide for us. He explained everything in detail and also showed us places that normally one would miss. The best part is that he does not demand any money and is happy with whatever you give him out of your own volition at the end. So if you visit srinrangapatna, where the firt is located, please look for him for an excellent experience.

The Tipu’s Fort is situated close to the busy Krishna Rajendra city market at the intersection of Krishna Rajendra Road and Albert Victoria Road. The origins of the fort date back to 1537 by Kempe Gowda the founder of Bangalore who constructed a mud fort with a perimeter of one mile surrounded by a trench and nine gates. The fort in the year 1761 was renovated by Hyder Ali and he strengthened it with stone which was then completed by his son, Tipu in 1791. Opening Timings: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM (All days of the week) Entry Fee: INR 15/- per head for Indians. INR 200/-per person for foreigners Camera: INR 25/- per camera Visit Duration: 1 to 2 hours

It was built quite nicely, But the maintenance is at it's worst. Being a Historical place the government bodies here must develop it. Once reconstructed it'll look awesome.
