Girnar Ropeway in Gujarat which has become Asia’s longest ropeway has recently been inaugurated by the Prime Minister of India, himself. The ropeway has been constructed on Mount Girnar in Junagadh District, which is a major tourist attraction in Gujarat because of the presence of pilgrimage sites such as Amba Temple, the Dattatreya Shrine, and many other Hindu templesas well as several Jain temples. Here’s all that you need to know about this soon to become a popular attraction which will make your Gujarat temple tour easy and quick. This Asia’s longest ropeway is constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 130 crore. The project was given to Usha Breco on BOT (build-operate and transfer). An interesting fact about Girnar Ropeway its length of 2126.4 m (2.3km) can be covered in just 7.5 minutes. The construction includes building lower and upper terminals as well as nine poles supporting the rope. It operates mono-cable gondola detachable type lifts. Nine towers have been erected between Bhavnath Taleti and Ambaji Temple. The highest pole is 66-m and is placed on the 1000th step of Girnar. The cable care will take passengers to 850 m above the hill to the Amba Temple. There will be 25-30 cable cars, with a capacity of eight passengers each. The cable car can carry 1,000 passengers per hour but is operating at a capacity of 800 passengers per hour and 8000 per day. The ropeway provides a picturesque view of the lush greenery surrounding the Girnar Mountain.

I loved this facility, and this is well operated by Usha-Breco Co., it provides ease to people going to AmbaMata Temple and To Mt. Girnar. As it is newly opened, it is well maintaineda and cleaned. The boarding hall looks like a airport coz of its modern architecture. But the Queue System I think should get some Redesignment. It has proper washrooms, cafeterias and all which is rare in Junagadh. It Is infact Asia's Longest Ropeway which I am proud of. Altogether it is good for people, environment, and the local businesses. Its a boon for all !
Udan khatola station of Girnar Ropeway has been recently inaugurated. You can book tickets online as well. Tickets for round trip of ropeway for adults is 700.00 INR. Children get ticlets at half a price. The ropeway takes 8 minutes to reach upto Ambaji Peak. Very Clean - Staff member very Helpful Really enjoyable place. Foods at pantry was amazing specially Tea. Booth rooms are very clean and organised.
Girnar( Junagadh) is a must visit place and visiting it via The Udan Khatola makes it more thrilling and remembering!! About the service: Very clean and maintained cabins...very fast and secure... Fun part is it never stops unless there is a power outage or any issue... On-boarding and off-boarding in a running( or I should say walking) cabins is another experience. Not so expensive fees given the distance and time it takes... Only 8 people allowed In a car makes it more convenient for larger groups to travel together and have that thrilling experience. No food, liquid (even water) items allowed to be carried along with you on the cabin. The staff/helpers are very supportive and helpful on the gates. ATTRACTIONS: few Rajasthani folk singers and dancers performing live while you wait in the queue for your turn. So on your next visit to Girnar so try this amazing ride!!

Udan khatola station of Girnar Ropeway has been recently inaugurated.. It is a wonderful place to visit. Tickets for round trip of ropeway for adults is 700.00 INR. Children get ticlets at half a price. The ropeway takes 8 minutes to reach upto Ambaji Peak in Girnar mountain ranges. 8 people can travel at a time in a single cab of ropeway. This diwali is the peak time for visitors here. Also on the next full moon day, thats dev diwali, the so called lili parikrama will start here causing immense public to visit here.. Also in the Pandemic times, the staff here is so cooperative and all the social distancing rules are strictly followed here.. The infrastructure is so well constructed and meets all the high class standards giving it a 5 starrer appearance. For sure, its A place must to visit in the Girnar mountain Ranges....
Visited the girnar cafe for lunch. The food was very average. I had ordered for butter pav bhaji and they served the pav without any butter. Further, they didn't have heat it and just served it raw! Their staff were also not willing to listen and take our request for heating the pav. All in all, pathetic service.
