Raja kothi is one of the historical place in nanpara
This is a historical building, built by King of Nanpara for his residence. It also has a lake surrounding to it which gives a very beautiful view to it. Only little remains of buildings is visible nowadays.
It is located 36 km away from the district Bahraich. This palace of the king of Nanpara is in very dilapidated condition. The Nanpara Taluqdari was one of the talukdaris (feudatory states) in british india. The title of "Raja" was conferred on the Nanpara House in 1763 by the Nawab Shuja-ud-Daula, the king of Oudh and has then recognized by British. With holding of 439 villages it was the largest Muslim landowners in British India. In the front of the palace, there is a small playground where everyday when evening falls, kids play over there.
